Text Messages showing unread in the HUB after opening and reading the texts

My PRIV started performing differently this AM. When I open a text Msg in the HUB, I noticed when I close the text Msg out the text still shows unopened in the HUB. I found that if I highlight the text by holding down my finger for a second, then touch the three dots in the upper right hand corner and hit "marked read" , the text msg will then show as read. Weird. I called BlackBerry technical support they said that this is a known issue and to look for updates when a resolution is reached. Has anyone else had this problem? It's no big deal, more of a nuisance than anything else

Yeah there are several others reporting the same thing. Mostly in the BlackBerry HUB+ Suite forum.

This started happening on my Priv too a few days ago. When I am having a dialog I have mistaken it for a new answer several times.

Ita's to do with google's text app.

Yaata doesn't have the problem.

There's a lot of text apps out there, it would help if people indicated which one they were using.
It's not a problem with Yaata.

There's a Google Messenger update available now that seems to fix the issue.

Update your messenger. It is fixed now.
