Keyboard IS backlit, just not when there's ambient light. It's by sensor (apparently).

To me they look worse. L shaped connection, they don't appear to be the tangle free design we have now, and standard bud that tend to fall out over the ones we have now

Coming from a Q10, size is my only concern. I'm not into large slabs. But I'm leaning towards buying in hope it succeeds and other smaller variants are created. However, one quick question to Android users:

I've only used BB10. Is Android intuitive, easy to learn on the go?? (I'm not a smartphone guru)

you don't need to be a guru, if you used a computer and a phone before, i am pretty sure you can adapt...just play with it and you will learn the ins and outs. it might feel different at first but eventually u'll get the hang of it

Probably room was much brighter than what the camera captured. My Classic turns off the keyboard backlight when its surrounding is bright.
