That's a lot higher than what I read on another thread, they will not move the volumes at this prices, too many android high end devices at that price bracket.

That's way too expensive. I suspect BlackBerry may have price arrangements based on country. Not many mainline Android or BlackBerry users in Canada are going to dish out 1200 bucks for a premium BlackBerry Android phone when they can buy a Premium non-BB android for 700 or the Google nexus phones for 350-400

    Oh my

Yes, just seen this myself BlackBerry Priv price confirmed, and it's not cheap | TechRadar

Disappointingly expensive. Although others might say it's 'reassuringly expensive'
It's difficult to see how this pricing strategy will get everybody rushing back to BlackBerry. Premium prices are a deterrent to many punters and although the Priv will undoubtably be a premium product it seems likely that this price will limit sales. On the other hand BlackBerry is committed to servicing the prosumer & enterprise markets, so the average punter may not matter.

Actually more like $849+. S6 Edge launched back then for 599 GBP (Now 499 GBP), Telus still selling that for $849/$960.

Yeah 579 translates directly to $894. But maybe the US will get them cheaper.

They need to get it down to 550. And release it in multi colors like the Q5. Those 2 things would make a huge difference in sales.

Well the 579 GBP price probably includes VAT. S6 Edge was 599 GBP back then and that launched at $814.99 on AT&T.

Weird ... [but please excuse probable mistakes]
No SIM Free offer as of date (from the web).

Priv by BlackBerry contract deals and offers from 49 per month | The Carphone Warehouse

    Attachment 375987

    note/question : 49/mo is 10 above the 32GB Galaxy S6 Edge similar plan (530 SIM free)
Should we believe from that the SIM Free price would sit in the 660 range (~ 25%+) ?
(correct me if I'm wrong but this would set the price in the USD 1K range - warning: this is currency change, not pricing !)
Also, IP6S have a similar monthly fee (minus 3) and a SIM free price of 619

Last, noted supported networks (as far as we can trust it right now)

    Hello,

Wow, assuming that is accurate...close to $900 USD?

Not sure even what to say about this, except that this reinforces everyone's fears.

BlackBerry's product targeting a niche market is going to reduce that group even further with ridiculous pricing. With high pricing I don't see how that has ANY chance of grabbing a broader base of customers.

We usually have a (close to) €1 = US$1 price.
    So if you change 580 for € you get ~ 790 €
    Make your bets.

The price in different countries doesn't go by the current exchange rate.

They price the device different prices in different countries that's how it always is.

That's why sometimes it cheaper to buy a device from another country and get it shipped over to yours.

I seriously doubt BlackBerry will sell it for $900 USD.

If I remember correctly, the PS4 came out with a difference of 50 from to $ on the sale price. While different tech, it's still possible that the Private will be around $650 US
