My wild guess now pegs AT&T and Verizon Marshmallow for mid-June, with a beta (read: soak test) starting in a week or two, alongside June updates.

Likewise, but then when the update took only ~5 minutes, I was pretty sure it wasn't mm before I checked.

On a positive note, at least AT&T is more timely with security updates as compared to the other US carriers. This gives me hope AT&T will push Marshmallow to us before them too.

An official Rome/Hamburg announcement around the earnings call in June would be awesome as well lol.

Time for all of you that bought carrier locked AT&T Privs but are on other networks (ie, T-Mo or international networks) to test how to get OS updates from AT&T.......

    1. Does it just work OTA even while on another carrier network using other carrier SIM?
    2. How about if you remove sim and just use WiFi?
    3. Does it work if you use AT&T inactive sim over WiFi?
    4. Does it work only with active AT&T sim over WiFi?
    5. Other ideas.....

Mine tried to update this morning and then displayed an error (funny icon - Android robot with back panel open).

    The About Phone says;
Android security patch level - February 1, 2016
    Build number - AAD447

I check for updates and it tells me I can check again in 21 hours. Anyone know how to get around that?

You can try manually changing the date to tomorrow then check again. But don't go too far if you still get nothing, just in case the system tags the update check by the device date, and you are locked out from receiving push update until the last date you tried.

It works only with an active AT&T SIM, it will update via wifi if available, but only with active AT&T SIM.

Get a 'Go Phone' SIM, (AT&T's) prepaid, about a dollar, register it online, you don't have to buy any airtime.
This will get you the updates, when and if AT&T releases them.
With no airtime it may quit working at some point, if so just purchase the minimum amount.

BTW, plenty of vendors on ebay will ship them overseas, around $20.00 with shipping.

On ATT device support site, it still says latest update was AAE299 on 04/12. I have a feeling that AAE599 might be slipped out accidentally, and ATT intended to go directly to MM.

For the previous updates, once I see it's out I have been able to check and quickly download. This one I don't seem to be able to access.

This security patch update is on the same release schedule as the previous ones... typically a week or so lag time from when the unlocked BlackBerry Privs receive it.

Nothing happens accidentally with AT&T based on my 25 years experience with them. I have no clue when they will release Marshmallow but it will be when they are ready and not by accident.
