I guess that's a much better sign. Hopefully we get more info on the 10th like rumored.

I'm willing to guess 16th. That's another frequently quoted date.

That maybe a mistake, I hope the priv is successful, if so, BlackBerry would have made money. Hence more hardware. They won't abandon BlackBerry 10. But don't expect latest and greatest for bb10 phones

TMOB branded phones have TMOB wifi calling thats the main draw vs using unlocked.
Huh? Since when? This is news to me because I doubt this statement is true.

The original tweet was very specific, "We are not going to carry the BlackBerry Priv". If this is true, we're doomed. If the info was incorrect, T-mobile should fire that dumb @%& rep for tweeting nonsense.

Which part isn't true? Most T-Mo branded phones do have wifi-calling and in the past (with the exception of BB 10 phones) you could not just bring an unlocked phone to T-mo and get wifi-calling. But, unclear in the future how they will handle this. For BB 10 phones to work on t-mo's wifi-calling, you need to have the current OS 2.789. This was released specifically for the T-mo Classic, but once loaded on other 10 series BBerry devices, they got wifi-calling as well.

I agree that I'd buy the phone outright and put it on T-Mobile. But for BlackBerry hardware sales most people still use their carrier to upgrade phones. For T-Mobile to have the Priv on their website available for "jump" upgrade that would mean a lot more people who would consider a Priv.

This is what happened with the 9810. AT&T got it first with their logo on it. It took a few months for T-Mobile to get its own 9810. For some reason BlackBerry loves AT&T. Would make more sense to me to launch every carrier (verizon too) at the same time.

Well that's a good sign. Didn't mean to start a sh*tstorm, just trying to share the info I was given! Personally, I don't want to do byod to Tmo for the following reasons:
    *handset protection
    *jump! service
    *wifi calling

I'm sure I have more, just can't think of them right now lol

I plead ignorance when it comes to Android up-dates carried out by carrier. In the case of BB10, as we all know, you can go grab an auto loader and DIY. But if you want WFC on your t-mo phone, you may not be able to get it if you bring over a non-t-mo tweaked OS.

You're right, we just don't know. I have wifi calling on my unbranded Z30 but it took over a year. I'm not sure if they flipped a switch and just are allowing it for all byod phones or not.

Wonder if we'll still be able to get updates directly from BlackBerry (or leaks) and bypass the carriers like we do now. I've never used an Android phone so I have no clue what to expect with that.

My Samsung Relay, a phone from 2012, has wifi calling (If I were to stay on stock, that is.) IIRC any recent t-mo android phones have had wifi calling.

I bought a Playbook, reassured by the CEO of BB promising native email within 60-days. That turned out to be a lie. So, no, a mere COO's word doesn't cut it.

I've read T-Mobile's COO's tweet. It's far from Jim's 60-day words, which was a fer'real "promise", and commits T-Mob to nothing. It merely states that they don't carry it NOW (true), and that they'll update that when they have something to report. It's a huge stretch to assume that T-Mobile will be carrying the Priv based on that tweet.

Meanwhile, here in the UK, two of the big four networks have apparently said they won't carry the Priv. The other two say they will offer it "... to their business customers".
