    Agree with the above post.

For the other side I have an awesome idea, customisable shortcuts like the pkb shortcuts!

This is a good idea if it's curved on the 2 sides!

FWIW my guess is that it's a a Samsung S6 Edge screen on a BB slider mechanism. It may be running BB10, or possibly Tizen? I would think BB10 as it would be very embarrassing for BBRY to show someone else's software on their brand new and as yet unreleased hardware (even if there is a possibility that they'll bring other OS's to the platform....

I like the look of it and am interested to see what it turns out to be when it goes into production.

It seems to me that the most interesting thing about a slider is watching it being open and closed. If he walked on stage with both phones already open then the mechanism isn't working yet.
Check that video on the blog again, I clearly heard it go "click", just like my 'Matrix style' Nokia 7110...

I just totally liked that phone. And I know what I heard, for sure. Go, check it!

Oh, those were the days... :-)

No photo of a real smartphone display has icons that look white and blown out like that. You should be able to see icon colors on a real display. That was white LED light shown through a transparency with the black background/adhesive extending past the screen and covering the top of the physical buttons. And like any good magic trick you don't show anything long enough for anyone to really figure it out and hold another shiny device in your other hand to divert attention away from the screen.

I thought it was a "background" image, with icons on it, to give the impression that it was a fully functioning OS. Which would explain why none of the icons are selected from him touching it.

These photos show exactly why he'd hold the phone like he is, with his thumb on the screen, it's so he can slide it. Thanks for showing both of those.

It could be that they made a specially forked BB10 for the Slider in order to take advantage of the curved edges.

As I stated I tried to run the apk version of geekbench and it doesn't work on BB10. Therefore it can't be responsible for the database entries.
Lol. My phone (passport) is enrolled on corporate BYOD via android client for Citrix.
Admin panel sees my device as Passport, but OS reported is Android.

It's probably not running BB10. If the major components come from Samsung then it's probably running something else. That's probably why there's no close-up photo.
Wrong. It's running BB10.3.1 at this point. And most likely will be released with BB10.3.2 or BB10.4. Depending on the time frame of its release.

    Attachment 340745

These may be prototypes, but not the only 2 made. There's quite a few around in Waterloo and in Toronto, ON. Canada. Just like how the Passport was around in the wild. In testing phase I assume.

The picture I provided is the same picture shown at the 2015 World Mobile Congress event. It's quite evident its running BB10.3.1 in that picture.

It's running BB10. The only thing that seems slight off or different is that the phone, search, and camera buttons at the bottom see to be soft touch hence the black border around then. If they are not really a fan.

I still don't see how the icons could all be blown-out white if this is a photo of an actual screen. The Hub notification should be red and it clearly isn't on this screen. The color of the hand looks natural so why doesn't the screen have any color?

Look at the Assistant App, you can see a hint of light Blue. But need to agree, something weird with why the screen is so drowned out by whites and brightness. In my personal opinion, I believe this was done on purpose, seems they are hiding something. But you can clearly see its running BB10.3.1.

Another thing could be they had something over top of the screen to blur it out for some reason. Such as to perhaps hide the screen edges or something? Who knows, but still a bad move by the company. It should have been clear and colourful for that demonstration.

Everyone flocking to what the "edges" will be used for? It's not the samsung edge where the edge is "bigger" and a separate amount of screen that can be used for stuff- its like the s6 where the main screen if the entire thing- the edges are just curved "woo...hooo"

Look at the S6 vs s6 curved pics
