It's an industrial heat sink (just carry it around in your back pocket)

I cool it off by immersing in a cup of water. Then I make tea with the water.

Do NOT try this at home or anywhere else!!!

edited to add: I should note that I have not had an issue with heating or overheating with my Priv.

You do know you installed the heat sink backwards? Hopefully you remembered the thermal compound.

BTW, I also have no overheating issues

OK, I uncoupled the heisenberg compensator, and plugged in the Flux capacitor!

Other than that, any serious suggestions for overheating on lollipop (no MM yet)?

    Thx

Did you install 3rd party applications or did you add a bunch of accounts simultaneously? If so, they may be the culprit.

For accounts additions, you just need to let the device complete account sync.

For the 3rd party apps, you can try starting the Priv in 'Safe mode' and see if you encounter the same heat problem.

To start in 'Safe Mode', press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds. Then press and hold the 'Power Off' until you get the 'Safe Mode' dialog. Then press OK.

The device should then start with only system apps started. Use it for a while to see if you experience heat problems.

I go the other way and just use the heat to cook, its perfect multitasking. Warms food, coffee, anything you need by just browsing a few pages. Played Candy Crush and cooked steaks last night.

I have the Same problem, i have read somewhere that overheating in Priv wont damage the phone, one of the things prevents the phone from damaging is what is made of. I am not sure its true, anyway, the phone temperture reaches 44C 45C. I hope this is solved by marshmallows or new minor update.
