Check the specifications on the watch you want, it should say the minimum it needs from a device to work.

I use a gear s2 but every time gear App updates my phone stops connecting via Bluetooth to the watch, have to wipe my watch, restore phone and download everything again, it's a pain! Anyone else having connectivity issues?

When it's connected it works great, but as soon as an update happens, or one of the devices is powered off and back on, it losses the ability to connect again without resetting.

I just got the Microsoft band 2 yesterday and it seems to be working well. Had a little issue keeping it paired but discovered that was caused by an app update. Once I restarted both the band and the Priv all is good.

I am using the LG Urbane, works perfectly. I was using the Pebble Steel before and also worked perfectly. I would say any Android Wear watch would be fine.

I'm jealous! I can no longer get the watch to connect! I will try and mess with it today and see if I can get it to work again.

As this Watch was tested using a BlackBerry PRIV there was a lot of focus on compatibility but with the OS on the PRIV being primarily Android 5.1.1 and the Watch OS - Android 1.3.0 the connectivity and App support worked perfect. When I Silence the notifications the watch silences also which is a bonus.

BBM group and direct notifications came through seamlessly, Facebook
    and Twitter alerts work well.

Using "OK Google" you can reply to messages, search for items, places or contacts, and even place
a call, however the later needs to transfer to your handset due to the watch not (yet) supporting calls on the unit. Watch this space as a new update is due out very soon to Android Wear 6 that will support calls from the watch.

Review Update : Only a day after I published my review and the watch proved it's worth. After a visit to see Star Wars I stood up and realised my phone had fallen out the holster. It wasn't under my seat or around about. Panic!!
