Wasn't the virtual SIM more about ease of carrier switching and not about switching between 2 devices?
I'm not sure, I hadn't read that before.

Isn't it obvious which one will sell better?

While it might be obvious to some, the hard data will really be tough for all to deny.

It's more about having the ability to have one phone using two numbers / service plans that would allow you to easily have your work pay for one number/plan, and the other would be paid by the user for personal use.

My thoughts on this device is that it may help Blackberry survive the turnaround.

Device sales and the hardware division hasn't been as successful as John Chen anticipated I suspect. If this device can be profitable and have a reasonable level of success for a new Blackberry device ( say 2 million units a quarter) then this could provide a little needed revenue and some PROFIT in order for Blackberry to replace the lost service revenue and get the software and enterprise business humming along.

If this device has some decent marketing targeting previous Blackberry fans who miss the keyboard and are app heavy on other platforms, then this does have a chance. From the handful of people I have talked to about this, they do seem "intrigued" to say the least.

    Go Blackberry Go!!

So ummm.... where's the home button?!?

    Posted via CB10
The BB10 button is an on-screen button. It's in the middle at the bottom when you are in portrait mode and still in the middle bottom when you switch to landscape. It predicts the most likely Forward move you will next take. Other company's button only take you Backwards.

It'll be out by the end of the first week of November for the big 3 ("Robellus"). No word yet on their discount brands (Koodo/Chatr/Fido) or the AWS carriers (Mobilicity/Wind), tho.

Is it time for a 'the slider won't sell in India' topic yet?

Why limit yourself to India, heck, it probably won't sell anywhere.

It will do 'ok', better than any bb10 device, but nothing significant .

Well, if we stick to the thread title and observe geographical correctness and further assume that the OP meant to say 'North America', thus denying that south and Central America qualify as 'American', then Canada which is also in North America will be getting it on the same date. I may be incorrect, but sometimes certain nationalities forget that they share a continent.

I'd take anything BB says regarding a release date with a grain of salt. Would it really shock anyone if this was pushed back until 2016?

I really hope not as that would kill all the hype this phone has generated so far. But then again it's BlackBerry were talking about and they've known to do this time and time again. Let's just hope this time they have it all figured out...

Since Chen took place, I didn't see phones taking as long as they used to. After the passport leaked a few times, we didn't have to wait much for it's release. The priv has been presented by chen already, so I don't think it will take more than 3 months to release.

Based on a LOT of circumstantial evidence doing the rounds, November is the month. They might pull their finger out and get it out for the last week in October but I wouldn't hold my breath.
