    Because it is a mechanism it has a high probability to malfunction over time. This problem this early is not good. Ship/or take it back for new one. Umm I will not get the Priv. I saw and touched it today. It is subjective...it does not look or feel premium to me. Keyboard is too small, battery life is suspect, average camera for a flagship and heat problems complaints. My Z30 is 3 months old new and I have had none of those problems except camera is very average in low light conditions.

    Good luck with your Priv.

    That's how it is supposed to be so the weight of the screen doesn't make it close on its own

    It works perfectly. Slides up, slides down, slides up, slides down... and so on.

    If somebody has a problem sliding this keyboard in and out, that is not BlackBerry's fault and has nothing to do with this design.

    PEBKAC issue.

    After the 900 series the Nokia/Lumia exterior shells did not look premium. The new 950 and 950XL specs are good though.

    @OP:

    I think it's mentioned in the Android Central review that while closing the kb, about halfway up some sort of mechanism 'catches' it and closes the kb automatically / smoothly.

    Maybe that's the thing causing some resistance...

    Going OT, but if you haven't already used WP OS & don't already like it, you won't if you're thinking of switching from BB10.

    Multi tasking, app selection, file handling & management are worst amongst all platforms.
