Is that possible? I mean, on the Passport pkb, the time needed is noticeable shorter. On the Priv, this really slows down the typing speed.

    Thx.

    Have you tried this:
Hold down 0 key when typing on physical keyboard. Tap gear icon.
Go to BlackBerry Keyboard Settings>>Advanced>>Debug settings>>Keypress long press delay.
Move slide from 300 ms to 100 ms.

This sounds like it should do what you want. I don't really notice a difference though, so I'm not positive it's actually working.

Weird. Maybe you have to be on the beta program? Or maybe it appears if you enable developer options in the regular Android settings?

It is definitely making a difference on the virtual keyboard.

Agreed. I just tried to do this and I too was not able to find the debug tab.

Could it be possible that the OP has a different version of OS than the rest of us?

I had assumed the debug settings where a standard option for everyone.
I have seen them referred to in the past by other people. For example in a thread talking about trying to enable pointer mode:
There are the keyboard debug options (Settings > Language & Input > BB Keyboard Settings > Advanced > Debug), but I can't find anything there.

Debug doesn't exist for me as well. I'm assuming that you need to have developer options on.

    You're right.
I just tried disabling developer options in the Android settings and the debug options disappeared.
After I re-enabled developer options the debug options reappeared.

I have Developer Options in Settings but I do NOT have that debug option in Language/Input. Unless there's a Developer Option to enable the Debug elsewhere???

Are you in the beta program?
I had thought the "beta" and normal OS were identical at the moment, but I guess it's possible that's a requirement.

Nope - not in the beta. So that is probably the difference. Did the beta have a new keyboard app update?

    It's not new.
The quote I posted above of thurask talking about the location is from 6 months ago.

Going back to the OP, I just got a Priv a few weeks ago - my first BB in a decade - and did not know that a long press gives a capital letter.

My question is, where is the best place to learn all these tricks other than surfing and hoping to get many of them? I have not been able to find good sources. I am very frustrated, for example, in having to press the alt then comma to get a comma on the hard kb, while there is a shortcut for periods.

    Thanks
