    Running Marshmallow on AT&T Priv.

How do I encrypt the SD card?

Is it encrypted automatically when device encryption is turned on?

I just updated to MM OTA ND the SD is not encrypted but it says the device is.

Device storage is encrypted but SD is not by default.
You can choose to encrypt SD, but it wipes your card and also you cannot use the card out of the device as its now tied to the internal storage. Most people should not choose to do this as SD card is slower than internal storage.

Thanks. It seems that Android is a step down from BBOS10 in all ways except for applications. I could encrypt my SD card independently from the internal memory on my Passport.

I kept the SD card on my Classic and intended on doing the same with the Priv. With my Classic I saw no performance difference with the card encrypted. Is this the same with the Priv?

What do you mean by it being tied to the internal storage?
I understand that after encryption you might as well consider it essentially another internal storage, won't it still be listed as separate?
