    Hi all. When I turn off the screen on the hardware button and slide the screen to hide the physical keyboard in rapid succession the screen will often turn back on. This is really annoying as the phone is often halfway on the way to my pocked when I slide it closed. This results in the screen being turned on in my pocket. Does anyone know a fix?

    Use a case or put it in your pocket head first.
    It's phone feature to turn the screen on when keyboard is pulled out.

    I haven't found a way to turn this option off.

    No he's saying it turns as he puts it in his pants as the keyboard slides open a little, thus turning the screen on.

    I don't see where you're getting that from, but I'll wait for the OP to clarify.

    Yes, that's exactly right, JM1219; the screen turns back on when i close the keyboard right after turning the screen off with the hardware button. I'm sorry if I phrased it vaguely. Does no one else have this problem? If so I suppose it might be a hardware problem with just my phone.

    Hmm. I think it may be that your keyboard is opening up slightly. The screen only turns on when you slide the keyboard out and not the other way around.

    Ideally that should be the case, yes. But it definately turns back on when I close it about one third of the time. I can recreate it while holding the phone in front of me so I can see that the keyboard doesn't reopen slightly. A small part of my thumbs touch the curve of the screen as I close the keyboard but that shouldn't turn the screen back on, should it?

    I can't seem to reproduce what you described.

    Also consider putting your phone into your pocket top in first? I started doing it so the headphone jack is upwards.

    I will try to make a video of the phenomenon when I can borrow a phone from someone else to film it with.

    I also have the same issue. Tried many times:
    1) While keyboard opened and display on, turn off the screen via button;
    2) After about 200 msec rapidly shut the slider;
    3) The screen will go on.

    This is annoying since this is the usual case when I am in rush and put away BlackBerry Priv in my pocket. So I don't see that halfway to the pocket display turns on and then in the pocket random stuff happens: Aiplane mode goes on (the reason why I missed many important calls many times), screen brightness changes (usually to maximum), etc.

    Looks like the sensor of the keyboard goes crazy if the motion is too fast.
