I really like the Priv with a couple of exceptions:
    1. The name
    2. The click insets on the front when you press down of the centre of the screen.
    3. The back pushes in in the centre (this has been discussed before).

I can't do anything about #1 but the other two remind me of the feel of pressing down on the Storm and Storm 2. Same tactile click with response. Wonder if there are any common parts between the Priv and Storm. Lol

It's not defective, this is the way all of the Privs are.

Factory unlocked version STV100-1 has no soft spot due to the extra antennae for wireless charging and keyboard works better; the audible clicks are the OS and I imagine can be turned off; as for the name, LOL.

I would think if he has a warranty he could return it and claim a bad build.

Flexing the screen while the keyboard is up actually does fix the screen click issue. Place left thumb on BlackBerry logo with your left thumb behind the right edge of the screen for pressure. Put your right thumb on the bottom speaker, and right index on the back of the device. Then give it a soft flex. It will put the screen back on the sliding track firmly like how it should be

I picked up one of the leather folio type cases and using that fixed the pop/click issues for me. Must just put the right amount of pressure in the right places or something. To be honest though, it never bothered me that much to begin with.
