Google has been putting out regular monthly security patches, but BlackBerry is not expected to release their next security update until December.

OP is saying Rogers holding November's.

What's your Security Patch level date? When and where did you get it from?

Still nothing for me on my Rogers Priv.

EDIT 14 DEC: Rogers pushed the AAH995 update to my Priv a couple of days ago.

Beta Program, I got it since late October on my unlocked. So it's not BlackBerry holding things up.

That still leaves the question the OP asked: When will we see the public release of the November update?

I was just pointing out your incorrect statement about "BlackBerry bundling it with December". They did release it.

BlackBerry Priv, DTEK50 and DTEK60 November updates now available | CrackBerry.com

As for why Rogers isn't releasing, that question has to go back to Rogers.

    .
Thanks for the reference, but there is a difference between BlackBerry releasing an update and it actually being received by all device users.

From the recent translated German article at http://m.heise.de/newsticker/meldung...s-3500787.html
The three different Android smartphones have different operating system versions:
PRIV runs with the kernel 3.18.84 and the build AAH505,
DTEK60 with the older kernel 3.18.20 and the build AAH487.
DTEK50 has the kernel 3.10.84, but no security update from November and thus also an older build with the number AAH108.

A BlackBerry Forum user quoted an official on the BlackBerry Security Response Team:
"Deployment schedules for each device are based on a number of factors Including Region, Country, and carriers. We can confirm the October security updates are available to all Carriers in Germany. November updates began to roll out last week and will reach all devices in the coming weeks."

Priv is on 3.10.84, same as the DTEK50.

But it doesn't really matter, that's just the upstream Linux kernel revision that BlackBerry/Qualcomm were using when they began development for the particular combination of Android version and SoC. One can backport changes from newer kernels, or fix bugs/security holes, or other stuff without having to increment the kernel version.

For example, the November patch fixes the Dirty Cow bug. On Android devices it's a change in build date and kernel revision (if visible), with the Android patch level signifying whether or not the bug is fixed. However, on mainline Linux, the fix is to run a newer kernel with a different version number (like one of these: http://news.softpedia.com/news/linux...w-509537.shtml).

Not really relevant to why the update is delayed, but ehh.

OK, but the PRIV and DTEK50 do have different kernel versions and as noted in the article, the DTEK50 patch was delayed.
    PRIV is on kernel 3.18.84
    DTEK50 is on kernel 3.10.84

Interesting that the Priv and the DTEK50 have the same kernel.but the DTEK60 is different.
I'm on Telus and I'm still waiting for the November update on my DTEK50 purchased from Staples.
