You're cussing out the entire design team because you're conflating a headline with its timestamp?

Yes sir. If my webteam screwed up something like that, no matter how minor or huge, I'd dock a day of pay just out of principle. I want everything to be accurate, but 3am? no.. not acceptable.

Why do say it's a screw-up? Do you have knowledge of when the story was actually posted?

Bla1ze said that he's expecting (or at least hoping for) news by the Re/Code event, so we'll see.

I'm assuming he's looking at this and mistaking the date/time the article was posted for the date/time Chen will be speaking:

Maybe, not home to check. If that's the case it appeared differently on my phone.

In context, Bla1ze was indicating that, with leaks as rampant as they had been, BlackBerry would likely officially acknowledge their Android handset by the Q2 earnings call and certainly no later than Chen's appearance at Code/Mobile. He was right.

Closer inspection shows that was just the date the announcement/story was published. Can't fault them for us readers not reading more accurately. And if you look around many of the speaker announcements/articles written by Ina Fried are published at 3:00 AM...

And dock a days pay? What is this, the 1980s?

Yes sir. 1982 to be exact. Dock pay or lose a hand, lmao.

I understand, but traditionally CB would be on top of any appearances from BlackBerry execs and the like. Even though it's been well-known that Chen's expected to speak, we haven't seen any reporting lately to reflect that. Not saying it's not on the way, but I'm worried that this is an indication that Bla1ze and Co. are not optimistic about a product reveal today, or even any more juicy details about the Priv outside of what's already known.

At least he is honest in saying that it is not 100%. I think it would have been a grave mistake to say that, then the first day it is released, it is hacked.

Basically (calendar year) 2016 is the moment of truth for the handset business. Given the timeline, it doesn't seem likely that we'll see another BB10 phone.

It has a 5-inch touchscreen, slide out keyboard, and capacitive touch on the keyboard, just like the Passport.

    Surely that is a typo...
