Qi charger observations
As the Priv has the fragile micro USB port (half of my devices with it have failed) I thought a Qi charger would be good to eliminate wear and tear on the port.
I bought a generic docking station style on eBay for $12, allegedy 15W . https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...72.m2749.l2649
When I got it, I was surprised to see that it didn't have its own power supply because a standard computer USB port is limited to about 500ma and at 5 volts, that's 2.5 watts. Input to the charger, not to the phone.
I've tried it powered from my PC and my 2000ma charger. When operating, it hits a peak of about 570ma, often much less. It can hit that from the PC, somewhat over the spec. That's with the screen off and just waking it to see what is going on. Compare that to about 1700ma when charging through the USB port. And here's where it gets weird: Sometimes into the negative! Per Accubattery Pro app. In fact, right now it is running 1700ma into the red!
Many have reported positioning problems with Qi chargers and the Priv. Mine has no such issue. If I raise it, it doesn't work.
At $12, I'll keep it. But it ain't all what is is cracked up to be. At least with this charger.

Sometimes you get what you pay for.....
I don't know about the PRIV, but with my S7 the first one I bought was only about $10 and it was very problematic... next I got the recommended Samsung pad for about $25 in it worked great. I like Amazon better as I can usually read customer reviews to find out if something works or is junk.
