Productivity edge seems to something they haven't talked about - apps you drag in from far right for quick select:

Here's an interesting one - there is an actual X to close apps rather the standard Android swipe (although you shouldn't be closing apps on Android but that's another story):

This is awesome! Thank you!

Going through this all now. Some nice surprises. I like the productivity edge, that's very cool. I like the pop up widgets as well. Seems like any app that has a widget can have a pop up widget assigned to it. All of these things just put information at your fingertips. Easy access to hub, pop up widgets, productivity edge; all great!
At least someone took real advantages from the screen curved edges. Not like that samcrap edge.

The pop-up widgets seems a great idea - any other Android OEM doing that?
I've been thinking but I can't recall. Seems it would emulate the whole "peek and pop" mentality of the 3D Touch stuff on iOS. Not sure how much I'd use it as all the messaging stuff is more convenient in the Hub. But for podcast apps (for example), I wonder if you could slide up to see the playback widget and actually pause, play etc. It'd be interesting to know how much you can interact with the pop up widget.
This phone deserves a proper overview of features. They have done some very nice things in here.
I'm so freaking happy it has the words above the keys in the Vkb

That apparently now has live filters :)

It was already noted before but it is nice seeing it implemented!

Hey Cgk is this could be 'last' simulator for BlackBerry? :p :rotfl:
But I thought the Productivity Edge shortcuts thing is the same as Samsung's? Someone around here mentioned that.
But good to see real confirmation that Telus is getting it.

It has swipe to unlock screen just like BB10 woot!

A native contact import and export tool built into the contacts app.. I dont know if this comes from the android side of things but it is a welcomed addition

Thanks for these. It's nice to dive into the OS even if it's only a simulator.

Pressing X to close open apps is just one option, they still kept the android feature to swipe to app to the side to close it as well
Posted via CB10
YES... key shortcuts confirmed. Loved that on my Classic.
Hopefully W can be reassigned this time, I really don't need voicemail.
CGK - Thanks for sharing the link to the tutorial....Priv features are sure to be USP compared to its Android competitors....just hope BlackBerry does more than enough of marketing of these features which they didn't do with BB10

They brought back the feature of having each individual account as a home screen icon!! Its an option you can select under the account settings! Reminds me of BlackBerry OS7 days

So does this actually confirm third party support in the Hub?
Pretty sure BlackBerry didn't write the Facebook and Twitter apps on Android.
Im by no means a computer software engineer, but it seems the programmers at BlackBerry are pretty dam good at engineering Android and bringing over all of their features.. it wouldnt surprise me if they found a way to grab data from official apps through the standard APIs and insert the notifications and shortcuts into the hub ala. BB10

It will just use the same APIs as the standard android notification system I would think ?
