I hope that Priv would have blend capabilities. I use it everyday.

It's part of the Experience Suite. The only issue whether or not it comes with the Priv.

On the other hand, you would think that after BlackBerry introduced the cross platform Experience Suite way back in March, we should have heard something more about it since then. Maybe they're waiting for the official release of the Priv.

BlackBerry has a habit of announcing software "suites" and not really following through. Anyone remember the eBBM suite? We got BBM Protected and BBM Meetings and then...

Why would GPS offer downloads for non-android devices like a PC?

Blend in the GPS is for Android tablets. BlackBerry has both Windows and OS X versions of Blend (and Link) for PCs on their website.

Exactly. It wouldn't be offered in GPS.

Cause your Android phone would need the blend app to connect just like a BB10 has an app on the device... so it can link to each other i think you misunderstood me

    From another thread: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...016-a-1044601/

I had an old Email conversation with the director of Ecommerce for BlackBerry from waaaay back at the launch of the Passport. She was very helpful in explaining the fiasco know as the Passport launch. I figured I would try my luck at getting a real answer from her concerning the Priv launch. I basically said that I was interested in buying the STV100-2 and was wondering how I could go about specifying that model # when I ordered from shopBB. And her response was ...

"STV100-2 is the Verizon model of the phone. Verizon won't be launching until early 2016. Hope this helps."

I don't know about you but I take this as confirmation that Verizon is getting it.

I believe I read on their page that there's no Sprint or Vz. Must be that cdma thing.
I am thinking so but I also read all 4 major US carriers will have this phone....

First, I think we know the answer to WHY they would want to do it.

Second, the BlackBerry Experience Suite that will be offered to other devices may have differences and will probably be sold using a different model (like part of a BES subscription). It too may be associated with a user's PIN.

Locking it to require BES would be a missed opportunity in my opinion. Put a bundled cost on the suite, and then have the option to purchase individual components also at a slightly marked up price to compensate for not getting the entire bundle.

I just meant that it would be sold using a model like BES (subscription service). I wouldn't be a fan of making it part of BES either, even though I thought for a while that that was a possibility.

Keep in mind that there are three components of the Experience Suite. The Productivity Suite with the Hub, Calendar, Contacts, etc. is included with the Priv. BBM is part of the Communications Suite that includes Worklife for BB, BBM Meetings, SecuSuite, etc. and Blend is part of the Security Suite that includes BES 12, Secure Work Spaces, etc.

There's also the question of where the BlackBerry Services app included with the Priv fits into all this.
