Didn't the Passport launch at 599, BUT just about everyone could get 100 off for an effective price of 499? (IF the Priv is 630 BUT has a similar 100 off for a 530 price I am a buyer at that price, but 630 is too much!)

In the US. Everyone else paid the extra 100 bucks plus the extra hundred for being Canada.

    I'll pay 699 CAD. But that's it.

I have a feeling this phone will be the big 899

I'm hoping for good news too, but as I stated earlier, the S6 Edge is $750 and the S6 Edge+ is $960 at Telus in Canada. Spec and feature wise, one would think it should fit near the high end of this gap.

I think in the last weeks, "rumors" of prices between 400-1000$ have popped up here. I'd take it with more than a grain of salt before they'll announce the device officially.

The Passport was $599 CAD during various promotions shortly after the launch. There was even a pricing error for $580 tax-in.

Really hoping the October date is true, it'll be in time for this sale this year.

Wow. If we get it for $699 in Canada (or less), that'd be fine by me! I was bracing myself for $800+, which would make my bank account cringe.

Though exchange rates make it look more like $799.

How about 549.99USD for a price? Let's call it 550.00 even.
Imagine they announce that price. What is your reaction to it?

That's still 749 CAD. On par with the Lumia 950.

I honestly dont believe it'll be a FOREX based price conversion. I hope and expect 599/699 us/can. Thin markets in Europe may experience the opposite. However BB may not have a lot of wiggle room for Canuks depending upon their costs. I'm hoping for the best for my wonderful Canadian friends
You also have to take into account the sales tax or VAT that varies from country to country. US is what? 6% or 8% I can't remember. The UK is 20%.

In North America sales tax is not factored in retail pricing.

Just did some research on the Blackphone 2 which is selling for $799 USD. I am willing to bet BlackBerry will price the Priv at $899 USD.

That's just too much for an underdog in an arena full of wanna be flagship killer Androids.

The Blackberry name isn't what it use to be. Telling people you paid $700 for a Blackberry and they'll laugh. $399 is my limit on this phone.
