Shame you didn't buy BBRY Call options last week....
Invest with your brain not your heart. I like Blackberry to much to invest unbaised. However I did buy RDS.B at 47 about 2 weeks ago and sold it at 56 at couple days ago. That made me more than enough to buy a couple Privs outright.

US $599 it'll sell. That's comparable to the other higher-end devices and right up the alley of where it has to be.

With the additional ram, bigger and better edge screen, better camera, and physical keyboard, it should be worth waaay more than $50 over the Nexus.

Which would be $800+ for CDN. Only few would buy.

I honestly dont believe it'll be a FOREX based price conversion. I hope and expect 599/699 us/can. Thin markets in Europe may experience the opposite. However BB may not have a lot of wiggle room for Canuks depending upon their costs. I'm hoping for the best for my wonderful Canadian friends

I thought this was established as a software issue, and thus BB10-related? Hard to see it translating over to an Android-based device, just because it's designed by the same company...

The LG G4 is $700 CAN at Telus. The Priv is worth a lot more than the LG.

The S6 Edge is $750 and the S6 Edge+ is $960. Spec and feature wise, it should fit near the high end of this gap.

I thought I read somewhere that people had to replace their kboard to fix the problem.
I remember having the double typing on the 9700 and i always thought that was me that was pushing twice or not pushing properly. At that time I did not know anything about the double typing.

When the G4 launched back in June, the exchange rate was still 1.23. They probably set the Canadian price around when it was first launched globally, back in April, when it's 1.2. It's standing at 1.29 now, and that 0.09 isn't exactly chump change.

    $599 x 1.2 = $718.8
    $599 x 1.29 = $772.71

That's almost a full price bracket just by exchange rate alone.

It's a hardware problem, that in some cases can be alleviated by software.

A software fix will fix the symptom, not the issue.
A hardware fix (replacing the keyboard) fixes the actual issue.

I really really really hope the Priv keyboard will be without the double type issue, but I won't be surprised if it has it.

Well if my controllers knowledge back in university still works, double typing is due to bouncing of mechanical switches. When a key is pressed, the analog signal looks something like this:

You either use higher quality switches that doesn't bounce as much (hardware fix) or use timers to smooth it out the analog signal before you register a reading, by delaying the read or re-read it (software driver fix).

Over time and wear, bouncing does gets worse.

The Priv sits somewhere (spec wise) between the S6 Edge and Edge+. They retail for $679 and $779 from TMO. Add to that the slider mechanism and keyboard.

The LG G4 is $609/$629 at Best Buy on Verizon/AT&T. Same specs minus the keyboard and curved screen.

I can't imagine the Priv going for less than $649.

    $599 would be a steal.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be priced very similar to the Samsung S6 edge. That phone is roughly about $750 to buy out here in Canada from most carriers.

I have a feeling the Priv will only be available with 32GB, or maybe even 64GB (wishful thinking, though). So in that regards the Moto X is actually up to $499.

Moto X Pure Edition now available in 64GB version for $599.99 | Ars Technica

If anything 16GB will be dreadful to use in Android. It's not until Marshmallow they will start allowing apps to be placed on micro SD again.
