I'm looking at the specs for this phone and it is saying there is a dual core processor and a quad core processor. Is that for different models of the phone?

    It's actually a hexa-core processor but whatever lol - https://www.qualcomm.com/products/sn...processors/808

2 A57 1.8 GHz cores, 4 A53 1.44 GHz cores. Better processor than the SD 810 because it (SD810) runs even hotter and throttles even more than the SD 808.

Other than serious gaming and hours of continuous QHD video, it still holds up today....and probably for a while, quite well.

The LG G4 chose the 808 over the 810 for the throttling reasons. The Galaxy s6 also ditched the SD 810 globally for its own processor. The 808 isn't as bad, or as hot as people claim.

I also find the CPU holds up to my workloads just fine, I wish for more RAM though as the phone slows down after a week or two, and requires a restart.

It's that ARM big.LITTLE thing; some cores are slower but use less power (little), while others are faster and chug battery (big). In this instance (Snapdragon 808), you have four 1500 MHz A53 little cores and two 1800 MHz A57 big cores.

Maybe some of the sources are posting wrong information, I always remember the phone to have a quad core = 4 cores,

Bla1ze already posted this and others have explained, but here it is again:
    https://www.qualcomm.com/products/sn...processors/808

    CPU Clock Speed
    Up to 2.0 GHz

    CPU Cores
    Hexa-core CPU
    2x ARM Cortex A57
    4x ARM Cortex A53

    CPU Bit Architecture
    64-bit

Maybe your sources are wrong? Kind of more likely than Qualcomm being wrong about their own CPU, IMHO.

Apparently you believe this guy is reputable, I never heard of him.
Saying nobody was a bad choice of words, obviously this close to official release quite a few people know. But officially it's still rumor.

Phone lag can be due to fact your cache needs to be cleared. Settings>storage and USB>internal storage>cache. Clear it there.

I have had my Priv since May(?) Of last year. No lag. I also went into developer options and turned it on and turned off all animations.

No lag whatsoever. As snappy as always. I am a heavy user, so much so that I have to power up around 3pm most work days.

Lostboy posted a riddle in another thread which was, well, a riddle and this CORE stuff explanation seemed convoluted like his riddle.

In other words, ignore my comment.

I have animations at 0.5 ...so what will turning them "off" completely do precisely?

I don't know how you get no lag whatsoever. If I use Snapchat, Google Maps, or even a somewhat heavy web page in Chrome, it can stall my system multiple times over.

Multitasking with Snapchat AND Google Maps will hang my phone.

Snapchat is a known resource hog, across all android devices. Chrome is far from the fastest and smoothest android browser.
I'm not going to claim no lag, but I see very little. If I'm using an online mapping app, (like Google Maps) with GPS, and try to use another app, it definitely slows down, but then so will any other device with similar specs.
