Wow. allot of people up in arms over this. Seriously, this is exactly in keeping with BB pricing over the last 5 -6 years. Not sure where all you people have been. The 9850 launched at a price tag $50 US higher than the then current I-phone. I think Verizon charged $200 on a 2 year plan after several months of it not selling. BB's sub $200 USD phone for emerging markets launched between $275-$300 USD in most of those markets. $900? Didn't even make me blink. BB's scheme has seemed to be as volume drops, try to make it up in pricing.

Great. Now things are being narrowed down. We have rumours of it releasing anywhere between Nov 1 and March 31. Cost between $200USD and $1,200USD off contract.

With all the rumours, the official announcement may be a bit of a let down.
Guess I won't be an owner @ $1200!! There is NO WAY people will pay that! At least not enough to turn profit.. If I didn't foolishly purchase one of the Porsche designs, Im dang sure not gonna pay $1200 for some unproven 1st generation phone! I will probably wait till the 2nd Gen one anyway, waiting on the Storm 2 was worth it!

Live from Code Mobile with BlackBerry's John Chen

    Chen: High end price, yeah.
Chen: We'll make the phone financially affordable to get, whether that's by installments or something else.
After this... I'm not sure this $900 rumor is as crazy as I taught it was yesterday.

Plausible and I hope it's true. That's how much ShopBB charged for the Passport when it launched.

Black Friday Sale 599 please and I will ditch my Classic.

If anyone takes the cad price and converts it to the USD price is a fool to think that blackberry will let the device go for that low.

No it's not. This has the same hardware as a LG G4. And where it should be. Last year's flagship is this year's mid-high.

LG G4 is currently $599 in Canada, and released at $650 in June... so I agree, I think $700 CAD (~$550 USD) wouldn't be a poor choice on Blackberry's behalf. They can't really go too much higher. The only real leg up they have from the G4 is the keyboard, privacy and the Blackberry suite which may be available on other devices (we don't know yet). And since Blackberry waited so long, now the LG V10 is out (the LG G4 "Pro", same processor, more RAM, 2 screens, military grade protection) so they sort of screwed themselves with their slow release. People need to stop focusing on the curved screen and thinking of the Galaxy S6E+, Blackberry isn't suicidal (... right guys??? right?!)

That price is ridiculous, there's no way that they will price it at $900USD.

love the when the "military grade" term it's used... I wonder what it means... maybe you can run over a tank or fire a rocket into it...
