No intro offer. Definitely can hold off for the Model 3.

Plus it's still cheaper to unlock the carrier model for 799+50.

Burr. A little outside my budget, but I put in an order. However my shipping and billing addresses got messed up, which means on the day they charge my card, they'll probably just cancel my pre-order and I'll have to order again. -sigh- We'll see.

That's 445 in the UK. If BlackBerry sell it at that price I'm in. Got my Passport for 440 so that would be great.

Fingers crossed it stays at that price.

Carphone Warehouse and their 579 price can get the duck sick.

Odd. The Canadian site doesn't show wireless charging but the US site does.

I noticed that too, and both are the same models stv100-1. It's not a deal breaker but would be nice to have

Strange. But FCC documents indicate STV100-1 has it.

Ouch $900 will be a tough sell. I guess you have to raise prices when you can't make large number of high quality phones therefore increasing your costs.

I've never witnessed such a botched attempt at launching a device.

I mean for God sakes even Amazon launched their (dead on air) Fire phone with CLEAR announcement, price, and dates.

I'm not too thrilled with the price myself but comparatively speaking its a high end Samsung device with a mechanical slider keyboard that has moving parts, its a costly device to manufacture. Not to mention the bloody Canadian exchange rate right now!

$899 is headed in the right direction, but still too rich for my blood.

Yeah, they really blew it. Marty Beard tweets last night you can "order" today, not just "preorder", and then the site says "preorder". The price is $100 too much in both Canada and US, and in Canada it is more than unsubsidized carrier prices.

No thank you BlackBerry. You just lost two sales.

well don't worry. When they don't sell at this price, Chen will have a big yard sale. No one other than BBRY diehards are going to pay $1,015.87 (taxes in and not including shipping) for an android phone. Certainly not a beta device.

Well sorry BlackBerry, that's a big go eff yourself!

Charging a pretty hefty price tag there for a first release Android phone.

Why should I pay that much when I can get a phone that has already proved itself out on the market? Samsung, HTC, LG, they can charge the prices that they charge because they already have their name in the game.
You wanted to get people to put down their Samsungs and get the Priv, charging that much is not going to do it!

Ouch! Well they can get the duck sick too. I'll do what I did last time and wait for the other 3rd party retailers like mobilephones direct who I got the Passport from.

No rush. The price always drops.

Yeah most all the Android guys play the same game.... early adopters will pay the most. I'm sure at the minim they'll throw in a number of those rather interested accessories for BlackFriday...

If funny with the iPhone it's different as usually you get your best price at launch as carries fight over customers....

Because it's the iPhone. It's in a completely different class than BlackBerry. Vast majority of people would rather pay $900+ for the iPhone than for the Priv.
