Not totally related, and maybe this has already been discussed, but Priv Accesories references can now be added to cart on crackberry.ca ( BlackBerry Slide Out Hard Shell (Lagoon Blue) (ACC-62170-002) for Priv | BlackBerry Cases ), with an estimated ship date of 11/10. Do we know if this is just a random date, or if that's a somehow official date?
Sure wish I could see how it looks and works.
Just did a quick search and found this:
BlackBerry Launches BlackBerry Passport Pre-Registration Site | Inside BlackBerry
Passport was listed for pre-registration updates on August 24, 2014 and released on September 24, 2014.
Hopefully it'll be sooner than that this time around if the present isn't dictated by past events.
Interesting that they had told my carrier sources that it was 3400mAh (even) and now it's 3410 (see my earlier thread about the confirmed battery rating).
I know it's a negligible difference, but I wonder why they would ballpark it...

Awesome. With regards to audio, should we believe this has BlackBerry natural sound or whatever it's called?

I can tell you based on what I know that that is not a random date and is the launch date for at least one of the major Canadian carriers. :)

This is one headline worthy piece of information!

Rogers and Bell. They usually get it later. Telus likely is the late October date based on the guy who spoke to an exec on Reddit.
(educated guess, I don't have any contacts)
Another important piece of infromation getting confirmed. I think now all we are waiting is to know the price.
I do find it odd they mention the brand of camera but do not real the MP or aperture.
No, all we are waiting for now is the device! I don't care about the price as long it's 500-700.

Thanks for the heads-up!
Posted using my BlackBerry Stainless Steel Passport SE (and I also have the BlackBerry Z30).
If I remember correctly the Passport was like two weeks and the Classic one month. Or maybe the other way around? And the Z10 was what, six months with all the delays :p
Point being: different phones, different announcement time to release.

So we can conclude that Priv is in the leading group of battery life in the premium segment along with the S6 Active and Nexus 6p, outclassing a lot of rivals.
Blackberry PRIV - 3410 mAh
Iphone 6 Plus - 2915 mAh
LG V10 - 3000 mAh
LG G4 - 3000 mAh
Note 5 - 3000 mAh
S6 Edge - 2700 mAh
S6 "normal" - 2650 mAh
S6 Active - 3500 mAh
HTC One M9 - 2840 mAh
Nexus 6P - 3450 mah
OnePlus - 3300 mAh
Sony Xperia Z5 - 2900 mAh

For that many people that are looking for a phone with a big battery, the Priv already is in a good position grab a few extra sales.
Phew, I visit the site regularly and glad to see this info posted. Cannot wait.

Just did a quick paroose of this thread and didn't see any mention of DTEK, anyone else see the DTEK system warning app mentioned on the reg page?

That battery size definitely makes me feel better about the Priv. With it looking so thin, I thought they would skim on the battery capacity, I'm glad to be wrong.
Buying 10 of them should be cheaper per unit
Yup, also mentioned on the Inside BlackBerry blog. Apparently the app itself is an official BlackBerry app.
The power of the Blackberry keyboard I miss so much combined with the apps I've come to love on Android...and a nice battery to top it all off. Yesss.
I'll do the math. 3410mAh is 5.9% bigger than 3410mAh. If your "all day" usage* is 18 hours of usage or 1080 minutes then all things being equal you will get ~63 more minutes.
*note: my record for all day usage is about 29 hours! Good battery pack is your friend ALWAYS!
