I can tell you based on what I know that that is not a random date and is the launch date for at least one of the major Canadian carriers.

This concerns me a bit. The roll-out should be for all carriers, on the same date. Obviously not internationally, but AT LEAST through the North American countries. There is no feasible reason that every Canadian carrier shouldn't all have stock on day 1.

I'll do the math. 3410mAh is 5.9% bigger than 3410mAh. If your "all day" usage* is 18 hours of usage or 1080 minutes then all things being equal you will get ~63 more minutes.

*note: my record for all day usage is about 29 hours! Good battery pack is your friend ALWAYS!
If we compare to the Note 5 can will be even more optimistic because the Note 5 is 3000mAh

For BlackBerry it always has been Telus first, then the rest later.

I currently have a Note 4, it has a 3220mAh Battery and 5.7inch screen, I just hope the 5.4inch screen paired with the 3410mah battery will really last all day long. As an heavy user, I barely can get at the end of my day (It maybe be because I spend 1/3 of that time switching from app to app... God do I want that Hub app so bad. and half the time typing is correcting typos!)

A Frustrated old Blackberry user wanting the best of both worlds...
But isn't Android horribly inefficient with battery? So even though Priv battery is almost as big as Passport, battery won't last as long as it would with BlackBerry 10?

I stupidy read the battery as 4310, that would have been epic. But this is god too, it packs so much into that thin body.

So we can conclude that Priv is in the leading group of battery life in the premium segment along with the S6 Active and Nexus 6p, outclassing a lot of rivals.

    Blackberry PRIV - 3410 mAh
    Iphone 6 Plus - 2915 mAh
    LG V10 - 3000 mAh
    LG G4 - 3000 mAh
    Note 5 - 3000 mAh
    S6 Edge - 2700 mAh
    S6 "normal" - 2650 mAh
    S6 Active - 3500 mAh
    HTC One M9 - 2840 mAh
    Nexus 6P - 3450 mah
    OnePlus - 3300 mAh
    Sony Xperia Z5 - 2900 mAh

For that many people that are looking for a phone with a big battery, the Priv already is in a good position grab a few extra sales.
If all things were equal.... yes.

But I think the BlackBerry Experience is going to impact battery life a little.... along with BlackBerry's inexperience working with Android. But I think for most as long as it will last 15 hours or so on one charge that's all they really want, and 3410 mAh should give us that.

What I want to know is how did they manage to fit a huge battery in a slider that looks so thin? There are bigger framed phones out right now that have smaller battery capacities.

That's a good way to see it i'd say 17 to 18 hours is pretty much the phone uptime. I do plug the phone every time I can, but I'd love to just forget it and not worry about the battery life.

All things considered, IF blackberry manages to make the Android Hub as good as the BB Hub, just that might reduce my screen time, not to have to go back and forth between e-mail programs, messaging etc...

We'll see I'll be in front row to give this phone a chance!

Not with Android Marshmallow's new "Doze" feature. And John Chen has already stated plans to update to Android 6.0 in the interview with Code Mobile. The end of the year will be interesting for sure!
