I have seen that happen on a demo device, although it wasn't broken yet

I'm going to return this to BB for a new one... ugh. This is a like a broken record like when I bought the Passport.

Hopefully ShopBB takes the return back...

A forum member reported that if you slide the screen up quickly, it won't click but keep in mind this isn't a scientific test.

The frets on the keyboards have never been glued down in any BlackBerry i have owned. It's plastic that's snapped into place, which is a more secure solution imo.

If it's snapped in, it's still better than the setup on the Priv! You can actually wiggle them up and down!

Oh wow! I'm still patiently waiting for verizon to release it...

On the q10 I took the keyboard apart and they had 4 plastic tabs that clicked into the backing, wonder why they didn't do something similar.

Hopefully you can get it replaced for free

I assume it is because they had to sacrifice it for the thickness of the device.

I remember being laughed at for suggesting the cheap plastic around the keyboard would scratch up easily.

Wow you wouldn't expect that from BlackBerry , a cheap phone.

I think it comes down to putting so much in a slim space, remember they were able to incorperate a slider mechanism and didnt make the phone noticeably thicker than most slabs on the market, its bound to have some pretty thin pieces on it.

They should have used a glass fiber reinforced plastic then.

it's definitely really flimsy. Especially since it's a thin piece and the plastic is thin too.

One can easily get their finger nail on it while opening the slider and break it.

I agree... it's quite disappointing really.

I guess it's the problem when there are moving parts to something... more ways for things to go wrong.

The good thing tho is, I'm getting a new unit.

Ten bucks is nothing on a 900 dollar phone.
