    ... is the take away.

Basically it will represent an incomplete device. One that BlackBerry does not even have the confidence to call what it's clearly implying: 'Privacy'.

At least for once they'll be honest about the fact that their devices do not actually give you any extra protections unless you pay extra for BES.

Well, from what I heard it's going to be really, really expensive. So you will pay a lot even for the first part ;-).

BlackBerry should have stuck with the name Venice or Slider. Is that so hard?

Naming is important. It's the first "look" at an item. Chevy's Nova flopped horribly in some countries because of the name's translation. TV shows rename themselves regularly to better identify in their name to their target audience. Names should certainly speak to the device, what it is and what it is about. The name should maybe even incite or encourage activity.

Bold. There is no bold without strong activity. Curve is certainly more active sounding than arc. Storms of all types are bundles of activity.

I'm not sure that Priv connotes what the phone is about or what any smartphone is about. The name falls flat and goes nowhere.

The Android aspect of it makes "Privacy" the NOT focus of the device.

Sure there's BlackBerry SECURITY, but Google NON-PRIVACY, baked right in.

Priv is the WORST name because, compared to other BB offerings, it provides the LEAST privacy protection of any of them.

There's clearly a groupthink problem at BlackBerry and / or their marketing team / marketing consultants are just effing incompetent. Oh, like that's news.

Maybe that's the point. That you can only get half Priv[acy] on this device, and if you want the whole thing then you should have bought a BB10 BlackBerry.

Is it really "the whole Privacy" when Google Play Services and Apps are preinstalled?
