Priv is a wonderful phone but not a good choice due to limitation of support and so many issues (heating, lag) due to mismatched components... get something else

I wish. Even if the PRIV could get Nougat by any method, I wouldn't be looking at other phones yet.

Do NOT spend $350 on a Priv, even brand new.

Get a KEY2 LE instead if you want a keyboard

I definitely agree with this. 350 for a Priv is a total ripoff.

Priv is a well designed device... I loved it... it is, alas, fragile... you will go nowhere with it... move on

    Unless it's a modified Priv with a 625, 636 or 660 processor and 4GB RAM.

I'd pay quite a bit for that!

From what I recall he was not that interested in talking to me until I made it clear I was visiting Beijing soon and just wanted info on where to find him and cost for modding my Priv to 4GB Ram with heatsink mod (I had it done late last spring).

I imagine he stays busy enough there and know he isn't interested in people sending their devices to him from across the world. I think he was selling some premodded on one of the chinese marketplaces (taobao?) but I can't recall which one.

Even if CPU is updated, you need OS to work with it(drivers), and that has no sources to come from...
