I have tried several audio recording apps that are working fine on other phones/tablets. On my Priv they are barely picking up any sound.

With my phone on my chest, my husband 1-2 feet from me, and the TV about 6 feet from my phone, I made recordings. I played them back at my Priv's max volume. On the best one, you could mostly hear me. My husband could be heard when he was yelling at the cat. And the rest was silence.

Is there a setting for the mic that I haven't found?
Is there a native app that records sound? (voice memos and such)
Does anyone else have this problem?

Blackberries have consistently had the issue of being too soft or quiet. One of the reasons a friend of mine moved to an android because he is hard of hearing. Could never get the BB to be loud enough to hear.

I really don't think there is any solution to your problem. I hope someone has some super simple tip that works. But if you search here, you'll see plenty of people disgusted and no solutions.

Why is your phone on your chest?
The BlackBerry has a few noise canceling microphones so make sure you aren't obstructing them.

Even when sending BBM voice notes, the voice meter thingy doesn't really increase.

I tried holding the phone up just to make sure I wasn't blocking anything. It wasn't any better than when the phone was lying down.
