    2. Does Google Play need my credit card details to download free things that are on Google Play?

    1. Yes you need Google play account.

    2. You don't need to add your credit card to download free things.

    Thanks that's good to know. Someone had told me he tried to download free books/music and it still wanted his credit card details.
