I decided to do a factory reset on my Priv. The procedure started but a little later it sort of freezed and now I have a black screen with a blue square in the middle. It's been like this more than half an hour now.

Am I in trouble? Is there anything else I could do?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Awesome!! It worked! Many thanks for this!!

And now it has reset to factory settings since it prompts me to choose language.

But why did this happen? Or is it a common glitch?

    Many thanks again.

    There are two prevailing theories.

    1) High-energy particles caused by solar proton fluences.

    2) Small mischievous creatures that tend to sabotage electronics.

I think you meant solar proton flatulence

    Glad could help.

Enjoy your PRIV. I rock one daily alongside my KEY 2.

Remember clear cache regularly, keep location off and use LITE versions of apps if available. I use Facebook / Messenger LITE, and Google NOW. they work great and way less resources. Yes I only load min apps from Google PlayStore.

For me the PRIV it's the awesome screen, form factor and a keyboard that has never failed since June 2016.

Don't forget to remove your Google account first, and then wipe. Otherwise the new owner will have to get your Google credentials from you to get past anti-theft.

Oh! I didn't know about that....I did the reset without removing my Google account first. So, what do I need to do now??

Just go through the setup again, get past the anti-theft, remove the Google account if it's still there, and factory reset again.
