    Hey guys,

So I have a cracked screen and a broken pixel on my priv. Rogers said they would send it in to BlackBerry and I'd get an answer 4-6 weeks. I am thinking of getting the Dtek60. Do you guys know which is better? Cause I may just fix the screen but if it's not covered in my warranty, it might not be worth it. What do you guys know about the difference in the two?

    Thanks
    Anthony

    Do you NEED a keyboard?

If the answer is yes, then get a Priv.
If the answer is no, then get a DTEK60.

And 'better' is subjective. If you NEED a keyboard then is a DTEK60 really better? lol.

If all of life's dilemma moments could be reduced to such a simple yet effective question... way to go Bla1ze!

DTEK60. If you don't want, wait for Mercury. LOL

I would say you should wait for Mercury. I have a Priv, and the performance failed me

My Priv runs perfectly smooth and snappy. Couldn't ask for better performance.

It's always better to wait it out past all the initial hype for some real world benchmarks and specs, build quality, etc. before pulling the trigger on a new device. I really don't think either of the DTEKs were vast improvements over the PRIV; not enough to justify an upgrade at least, IMHO...pkb or not.

Just posted about the same post on the 60 forums.
Is the 60 for someone that has moved on from the pkb? For me, I would love to stay with BB but the two Priv 's I have owned fall short in the build quality. Do you feel that the 60 is built "better" ?
    Thanks

Yes. IMO, it's an all around better device. There's 0 reason to buy a Priv IMO unless you genuinely can't live w/o a keyboard. But as you see from previous posts in here, others disagree.

They are both too bulky for me. I went Dtek50 while I wait for the Mercury. I like the 50 so much now, I might not even get the Merc. Then again maybe I will.

Thanks, I do like a little bigger screen, is there a major footprint difference? Does seem like it, but the Priv being more "Square" edged seems huge! I worry about the tech side of the 50 versus the 60. That's why I wanted to go with the 60. Plus I feel the 50 will fade away as more and more detek's come down the pike.
