Anybody using the third-party camera app FV-5 on their Priv?

I've been having trouble getting any pics taken and saved to the microSD card from being immediately available in the Google Gallery app. Also apps like Facebook can't "see" that photo for posting.

However if Facebook initiates the FV-5 app to take the photo then the pic IS instantly available in Google Gallery and for Facebook posting.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling FV-5, and I've also tried reformatting the microSD card.

Any suggestion?

I would be surprised if that app has permissions to write to the external SD card. Does it guide you through the storage access framework to grant permissions for the folder on the sdcard?

Also, if it is saving photos but not kicking the media database when it does so, then they will not show up in the pictures app, etc. Do they show up after a reboot?

FV-5 does have the option to select a custom storage location on the SD card.
SOMETIMES the pics will show up in Gallery after a reboot, but not always.

When checking the app permissions I noticed that the app was installed onto the phone, not the SD card, so I moved it over.
Took some test pics but they still didn't appear in the Gallery.
Rebooted and voil�! It seems to work now.

If I try using Camera FV-5 Lite, and save my photos to the /DCIM/Camera folder on the SD card, they show up in the Photos app without issue.
They also are showing up if I save to a custom folder such as /test on the SD card. I am running Marshmallow though, so perhaps Google's media scanner is improved in that version.
