I was in the previous BlackBerry 10 beta program. Hope they'll keep me on that new beta program (if there is a new one) for android now that i have my priv.

How can they possibly launch a beta program, await feedback and incorporate it by "late April/early May"???

You do understand that when you get an official update released, BlackBerry is probably one or two versions ahead already.

Sure but typically you'd release a new OS after you beta test it.

Presumably they have been Beta testing the past versions and the next version but possibly with a limited Beta Team. The idea here is to open the Beta testing to more folks for the future versions.

In the past it was an effective end run around the carriers for updates.
I was on the program with Z10, and got updates months before AT&T released them. As far as I could tell, AT&T had no idea.

Purist would probably call this "beta" a "gold or release candidate"; I won't be surprised it has been intensively tested already by a restricted number of "professional" (or acting like) testers.

edit : oops, hit the quote too fast
