I hope it's comes with 10.4. It's time we get a refresh to our beloved BB10 OS.

Android, no thanks. I left Android for many reasons and would never look back. It's the most hideous and tediously frustrating OS to deal with.

If they could get android working UI wise just like BB10 I would take it. I would also like them to add their own tweaks or make it run on the QNX kernel as opposed to Linux but that's so much work and I can't see BlackBerry having the resources to do that.

Hoping it's BB10. If it's Android, I might have to hold onto my Q10 for a lot longer...

So the screen is the size of an iPhone 6+ and then the keyboard slides down. Yes, that will be huge and possibly comical when it is opened up.
Its going to be the Samsung edge with a slider keyboard. Not a iPhone 6+

I am not 100% sure as to the OS version of the device but I do know that John Chen has some what "hyped up" this device in various ways.

He has indicated that they are looking at something in terms of app availability outside of the existing Amazon relationship.

    http://m.crackberry.com/john-chen-te...w-app-strategy

He has indicated that the phone looks "very promising" on his Twitter account.

And he has gone on record many times indicating that he has done lots of work to get the hardware division profitable. He mentioned that the sales numbers are going to increase towards the later part of the year on the back of "exiting new prodcuts" Now this could just be basic CEO talk but with John Chen focusing strictly on enterprise for the most part, I don't see another corporate designed phone having amazing sales results. If they could attract SOME consumer interest to the product it would almost be icing on the cake. For the above reasons I suspect we are looking at some collaboration with either Google Play Store or some hybrid of Android/ BB10 software.

People forget that consumers don't require the same level of safety and security that Blackberry's target "regulated industries" do.

I won't be mad at a hybrid bb10 and android OS at this point, as long as the hub and everything remains.

Pffft. Android apps are meant to feed your personal data to Google. If "consumers" aren't worried about that, they get what they deserve. You can't even toggle perms on Android apps, so I'll pass.

Although I totally agree with you 100% factors such as security, productivity, battery life etc are all reasons why us and the rest of the CB users are on Blackberry.

I am in the process of losing more and more BBM contacts to Whatsup because people find it easier to use and like it better. No amount of convincing regarding security and privacy will change friends who use Android and iOS to stop using Whatsup.

Most regular consumers either don't care about security and privacy or they don't understand how their information is being used by some of these companies or fraudsters.

One of the problems for me is that the new features of BBM are paid. I want my team to use them, but they look at me and say, "we can do this fee elsewhere... we'll use it if you pay for it." But, I can't figure out how to pay for them. Does anyone know? And I don't want to pay for enterprise level stuff.

    I am not 100% sure.

If you have twitter you can try using this link to contact a few BBM people with some questions.
