Pre-orders for the new Priv are available here in Germany too, although not "official" from Shop BlackBerry. Amazon, as well as the local online/retail giants Media Markt and Saturn started taking orders for the Priv this friday. All three sources ask for EUR 799 in exchange to send the Priv your way - available "soon", so no actual date is given.

How expensive is EUR 799? Just a quick comparision with the competition:
    Galaxy S6 Edge+ 32GB - EUR ~750
    iPhone 6S 64GB - EUR ~850
    Motorola Moto X Style 32GB - EUR 499
    Microsoft Lumia 950 - EUR 599 (pre-order)
    LG G4 - EUR ~440

799€ it's too expensive IMO. It shouldn't be any more expensive than the top of the line samsung, but it is... Even if the Priv has some superior features, it just can't compete with the brand equity that Samsung has (or even compete to the much superior Exynos Processor in the Edge+)

Since they reduced the price in the UK, US and Canda in BBshop, I hope European BBshops get the price down to around 749€

Iphone 6s 16gb is only 740eur as well. A lot of ppl like myself don't need more. I stream my music from deezer and I have my own personal cloud hosted for any files I may need on my French server machine

Everyone I know who bought a 16Gb iPhone regrets having done it and none have made that mistake twice.

Apple gang-bangs you in this regard by not offering a 32gb option; this is blatantly intentional as a whole lot of people don't need 64Gb, but that's your next option if 16 is insufficient.

Joo what does samsung have? Touchwiz? Battery that only lasts half a day? Card slot?

Oh lets not forget that the Priv will also have PIN to PIN messaging.

Got any sort of music library you like to have with you? I do -- and it would not fit in a 16Gb device with anything else on it.

That's where the problem comes in (and with offline maps, which are typically 2Gb or thereabouts all on their own.)
