You can't unless you either use a different web browser besides Chrome or pay for YouTube Red.

    Thanks for your reply.

I want to play in the background videos that are already saved on my devices NOT from the Web or youtube.

Download OG YouTube. Just Google it and download it.

I use VLC, but you have to turn the background playback option on in the settings

Right near the top, it says "play videos in background", just check the box.

I'm looking for a video app that will let me cast a video file from my phone where the playback will not interrupt if I change to a different app on the phone.

I want to be able to watch downloaded content from my phone to my TV, but then I also want to be able to respond to emails/messages without having the playback stop and show my message on the TV.

I don't use an app, I use a much simpler method.

When you find a search result you want to download on the YouTube website, do the following:

    Take the link, ie.

Change it to the following: https://ssyoutube.com/watch?v=DK_0jXPuIr0

(Simply delete the "m." or the "www." At the start of the url, and replace it with "ss")

It will redirect you to another page where you select the format you want to download, and the file will save to your downloads folder.
