Yep, definitely price gouging. The 16GB iPhone 6s is the same two-year price at Rogers, but an extra $100 off-contract. Doesn't make much sense.
Well look on the bright side... Maybe Robbers is seeing that it will sell so it's not offering as big of a subsidy to get people on. :P

I hope to see something from Amazon soon too, as I prefer dealing with them over Digital River/ShopBB. If history repeats itself, Amazon will be on board from launch too.

Maybe US is getting it later than Canada and UK.

No maybes involved. I'm sure US is getting it last. We usually do in most cases. Then they wonder why there is no market share and why people in the US don't purchase BlackBerry devices. By the time they hit here people grow impatient and choose something else

It depends on what you mean by US. Technically, if you order from ShopBB/Amazon, that still includes many of us in the US that want to activate it on T-Mobile/AT&T. That's what I usually do.

If we're talking US carrier support, they do usually fall later than Canada. On the bright side, EVLeaks has been pretty on the money and did mention support for all four carriers in November. That doesn't happen frequently with BB devices.

Shop for your options.... but sometimes Contracts can save you money.

My contract "plan" is only $10 more a month = $240

But I get a subsidy that is usually worth about $400.

Now if I could shop around with other carriers, I could find a better deal. But with Verizon, they haven't made BYOD worth while yet.

It's $100 over the Passport's launch. And if they really want people onboard, I smell a $100 intro offer like the Passport.
If you have thousands of people waiting for the device, let them pay more to get it at launch. Lower the price afterwards. BlackBerry, don't leave money on the table. If customers are unwilling to wait a few weeks for the price to drop then let them pay the premium! Why give it away?

What? It's possible that customers who pay $800 on launch will be upset if the price drops to $700 a month later? Well, since when does "upsetting customers" matter? Make all the money you can!

Wouldn't the GSM unlocked version need to pass FCC in order to sell in the US? And I don't think we have seen an FCC only the blutooth thing.

Well... I don't know about the "thousands" of people waiting right now. So far from what I read $599 USD / $799 CAD is putting some on the fence.
