    Theoretically it might be worth $900, but the US market won't support that number. Really, this phone should be sold as close to cost as possible to get the brand some momentum against the other new flagships that have come out over the last several months. Chen has pushed the handset division as a tool to get more end to end enterprise groups on board so if it's more of a tool to engage additional accounts, give it a competitive price and make a splash. Just my two cents.

    I know pricing has been talked ad nauseam but it comes down to 2 concepts. Either market it at just over cost to get traction, or higher (acknowledging BB is a public company) but competitive to other phones. We will know shortly. I still favour the second route. Different jurisdictions will demand some price juggling but I think in Canada, it would be important to keep it under CDN$1000 after tax, suggesting a net price of CDN$849. For the US, I suppose that means US$699. With all these higher priced rumours flying around, they just may have a pleasant surprise for us but I doubt it. The advantage of that is of course to gain presence quickly in the market and begin developing a Priv2, with some xtra features and some extra $ profits We will all know soon enough.

    $799 CAD...that's not bad at all! Sure I would have liked Passport prices, but I can't blame BlackBerry for needing to compensate for the pathetic dollar value. I would not be surprised to see around $749 CAD if buying from Shop BlackBerry direct.

    It's $100 over the Passport's launch. And if they really want people onboard, I smell a $100 intro offer like the Passport.
