Thought I'd start a thread to compare the Priv battery life. It allows people to see how their device is doing vs. others.

Currently Day 5 of owning the device. Mine is a STV100-1 model. Battery life has improved significantly since purchase..
First day I got it, I let it drain down to 10% before charging to full.

Here is where I'm at today under normal usage on a work day and then evening out with friends - which included a few photos, GPS, and social media activities. I started about 8:30AM in the morning. It's now 2:45AM the next day, and I still have another 9 hours left to go.

Wifi, location, and LTE is on. Google location history is on. Normally getting 1-2 bars on the LTE network. All apps updated. Screen brightness at auto-maximum.

I charged it to full, no Sim, only WiFi, to test, light usage.

Three days and still 50% of battery.

Very light usage, not using it as a daily driver, only standby.

I think posting a graph of your battery life is nice, but there's a huge margin of error considering how differently we use all use our phones. One can say their phone is being used "moderately" or under "normal use", but that has a different meaning to everyone.

Probably the most relevant piece of information is "total screen time" because it's a more realistic indication as to how much you've used your phone over a period of time, and the screen is arguably the most power-intensive process. Total screen time can be determined: Under the battery graph, select Screen, and view how long it's been on.

Yesterday I ran my phone from 100% to 1%. Total life of the phone was a little over 13 hours and total screen time was 4hr 42mins. Based on what I am experiencing this morning, regardless of whether my "approximate time left" reads 6 hours or 26 hours, it appears that a full battery will provide me with 4-5 solid hours of "real" use.

I am running the same test today.

Screen brightness from personal usage and what I see here is the main drain for battery life. I've lowered my screen brightness to low, turned off hub email interval sync and it seems to be holding at 70% and its been in use since I took it off the charger at 6am and its now about 5pm.

    - STV100-1; ordered from Amazon
    - All apps updated
    - Wi-fi on at home always
    - Wi-fi off at work (4-8 hrs)
    - Rarely use LTE
    - Screen brightness full during day time (4AM-4ish pm; gets dark early winter CO)
    - Screen brightnes half to low during night time
    - Gmail sync never
    - According to DTEK I have 0 intrusive apps (no location services on either)
    - My phone doesn't get hot, no hardware issues
    - I'm a heavy Web browser user, little to no media(video) consumption
    - I use my Priv in place of laptop, so I'm on it ALL DAY
    - I use dark themes whenever and wherever possible (reddit, reader mode on chrome, CB app,)
    - I try not to use battery saver mode ever - slows down phone too much for me
    - I use pkb almost exclusively; love the capacitative-ness

Anyway: posted in another thread already, - I get good to great battery life (though not amazing)

Question... just curious what carrier you're using. Also, is the phone unlocked?

    Thanks!

A few things to consider and this was a learning curve for me.
Pay attention to your notifications as some may run continuously draining battery power.
On disable interval sync in the hub with your email accounts as your service provider will automatically push email as they are sent.
Lastly, turn down the brightness level for the screen as that's the majority of battery drain occurs.

Decided to g a regular day without charge overnight. Honestly not too shabby, but I didn't use my phone for much apart from replying to emails. I used to use my phone to watc about 30 mins of YouTube a day while I washed up but don't dare have it so close to the sink hhaha

edit: 5h 5m of screen on time

The device is basically at default settings. I have not disabled anything. I did however allow the battery to completely deplete on the first charge. I have also updated all the blackberry apps manually.

    Settings
    Brightness setting at 50% (default)
    Battery saver disabled (default)
    Hub enabled (default)
    Sync enabled (default)

Something does not look correct on the usage split. Only if you just leave the screen on and the phone siting untouched you can get 50% screen consumption and 5% for Chrome.

That's exactly what I did. I set the sleep to 30 minutes and basically just let the phone sit on my desk, scrolling periodically to prevent it sleeping.

OK but what is the point of that? I think on real life usage SOT is about 5 hours. +- depending if is WiFi or mobile network / signal level.

I think 5 hours is really very good.

I wanted to test the limits...about half of the time during the test was normal use. If I did the whole test this way it would probably last 12 hours.
