I have just been on the phone to O2 to see if they will be stocking the Priv but the woman who I spoke to said that there's nothing in their system at the moment and to check closer to the release date

Past few days ive been asking on the live chat/in store all i was told was go through the coming soon/updates but because theres no option for blackberry updates its pointless i got no where with them

Exactly the same with me the people on the live chat don't really seem to know what they're doing and try and get you to go for the Classic .

It annoys me that they basicly repeat everything they say twice or three times over, when i say i already have the classic they just say 'oh' , surely people dont get paid for this crap?

I know! I ended up ending the chat as they weren't very helpful.

Fingers crossed we will see the Priv on O2 soon though I know i'll be checking everyday for it.

Update - spoke to someone from o2 today... their response to me asking if it will be stocked.. summed up i was told 'we may be stocking it but we have no official word yet due to the phone not being released till friday'..

Same tbh, i just paid off my device plan on refresh contract so i could upgrade to Priv through either o2 or carphone but its going to be easier getting it through o2 because of certain benifits o2 offer and carphone dont

I can wait until January, just wish we could know if they would stock it.

I just had a chat with the live chat and the person forwarded my frustrations onto their concerns department, doubt it will make any difference but worth a try.

Perhaps they are taking a wait and see how it sells approach?

O2 often makes announcements on launch event day but since there is no event they could possibly say something on the 6th. I would be surprised if they ruled it out completely.

Then again they are hoping to be acquired by 3UK who haven't had bb's for a while now so who knows. Any acquisition if it happens, could be some time away yet

It's currently exclusive to only carphone warehouse. Ask o2 if you can get a contract through cpw on o2. I've don't that in the past on T-Mobile back in the day.

Happy to wait, refresh is great and I get some benefits direct from o2 so am glad they are going to stock it at some point. I still have time left on my current contract anyway but I hate the exclusivity crap, I had to jump through so many hoops to get my passport.

It clearly states that Carphone Warehouse have the device exclusively. Surely not a boast to discredit? I spoke to O2 and they have told me there is nothing in the pipeline as it stands currently. The only thing that would change that is if the device sold immensely. Otherwise the "coming soon" segment will soon make people forget about the Priv where I doubt I'll ever become present in O2's list. Mobile market moves too quickly. Especially when your brand is more easily forgotten, sadly.

Anyone who is still waiting for O2 to stock the Priv, here's a bit of an update from a team member on their forum.

"Just wanted to update and help stop any confusion. A decision has very recently been made to range the BlackBerry Priv for corporate and enterprise customers. There is currently no plans for the Priv to be ranged for business or consumer. I understand this may cause some disappointment and unfortunately there's nothing else I can add - but I have shared some feedback with the team that a lot of you would like to see the Priv available to 'normal' customers so who knows what'll happen in the future."
