Daniel Craig rejected $50 million offer to carry Android phone in 'Spectre' | Fox News
Found this paragraph rather disturbing for android fans: "Viruses and malware could be another image problem for James Bond if he were to choose Android. The Stagefright vulnerability only happened a few months ago, and recent reports paint a rather bleak picture for security on the open-source platform".
One commenter said maybe he should use a BlackBerry Classic. I liked that.

He uses a Sony Xperia Z5, which last time I checked was Android.

Well carrying an iPhone would make him look like a teenage girl.

So let it be the classic

It wasn't just any Android phone they specifically rejected Sony and Samsung. Sony then published an add sort of indicating that he was using the Xperia anyway. I don't know if he finally took the deal or not but that's the back story I read on phone arena.

Really, the Bell commercials in Canada advertise the Z5 and Spectre together. It launched at $650 CAD if anyone was wondering...

Wow. I'd hold any phone for $50 million.

Must be nice when you can pick integrity over $50 million. I'm not ashamed to say I'd sell out.

It's funny then that Sony is heavily marketing the Z5 as the "Bond Phone". Some sort of contract must be existent obviously, but of course it still doesn't need to be in the actual movie.

Well, a Classic would be a great bond phone.

People pay a lot of attention to what Bond uses, drinks, drives, wears, etc. The whole franchise is based on his use of gadgets. The Daniel Craig version of Bond is a more serious guy. Remember, when asked if he wanted his martini shaken or stirred, he said "Do I look like I give a damn?"

So using anything that is out of place hurts his character. I'm sure they turn down millions of dollars worth of product placement. It's his selectivity that makes it valuable. How much do you think Cadillac would pay to be his car?

About the martini, years ago I read in the paper it was to show Bond as young and new, as opposed to older and experienced (also, wasn't that after a serious moment, after someone died or something? So it was more 'I'm in a pissy mood' retort? I forget). Also, it could be from the constant mixologists complaining about idiots shaking martini's instead of stirring (chips the ice cubes, watering the drink more).
