That first ad is for all the hipsters out there, meaningless. Now the second ad, that's meat and potatoes. the world needs to see more of that and less of the artsy type of ads.

They're banking on enough of a niche segment that cares about privacy will get then their 5million sales.

I can't imagine why they'd want to hammer home the privacy angle, no one cares. They'll still buy samsung and your LG phones.

Hopefully 5million will though.

Un-be-lievable. That first video is just so weird. At least the second one shows some features.

Isn't there anybody at BlackBerry who looks at these, sees how bad they are, and then says something? I really don't understand how some of this marketing stuff sees the light of day.

I was thinking that the video would transition to a ballet dancer and it would pull it all together and make sense. Then, it ended. Ummm, okay...

This video reminds me of the commercials that aired during frank the tank's reign in marketing.

There is little talk about what the phone can actually do, just gimmicky statements about what the user wants.

For someone that doesn't frequent these forums, the commercial will not register as a device, let alone a high end device.

I showed it to some people that had no idea about the Priv and the comments ranged from Creepy, to I still don't know what they do, to it looks like a jewelry commercial, to why is the screen all blurred?

I think we in these forums want this device to succeed so much that we are too close to it and don't see really how bad this commercial really is.
