Just like the bb torch.

We want it 4gb!
Sent from my shuttering, on basic task audio skipping Z29
I know it's hard to see clearly but does anyone else notice the keyboard sorta looks like the ones from the Q5 series

Sigh.
Here's an nVidia engineer explaining why you don't need 4GB memory.

haha I love that video
The Porsche phone is not the slider it's likely a fancy passport

If they want to make something really nice and original, they should make the keyboard on the slider removable!

I'm concerned about the battery and build quality. How big could they put those batteries on the phone? Looking at the pics, somehow it is quite slim. Also slide in and out too often could scratch and loosen hinges. Hopefully they will release more details soon.

HELL YA!!! Take my money!

Chen mentions innovation on the hardware side that will be coming around. Hoping that this in fact is not final hardware and that BBRY can figure out a way to implement the flip-out keyboard vs. the sliding keyboard. I just cant see myself getting behind a slide. What's next, a flip phone??
Looking at the video, vand looking at the back of the white phone and the front the black phone, it seems that the keyboard slides INSIDE the phone.

Why not? Leave the competition way behind. We may not need 8GB of RAM now or in the near future, but someday we will. So, let's just add it in now and be done with it. Plus, people always think more is better. Seeing 8GB will draw their attention to BlackBerry more than an Android device with 2-4GB or an iPhone with 1GB or RAM. This is something that BlackBerry needs to not just think of with RAM, but with all the specs of their devices.

8 GB Ram will increase battery consumption and the cost of the device, if there is no real need for it other than "future proofing" it's not smart.
I would love to see a resurrection of the BlackBerry Style. BlackBerry seems to be doing quite well going back and reinventing their legacy devices for BB10. The Classic is the new Bold, this slider that was briefly shown off is the new Torch. Creating new innovations like the Passport or reinventing desirable legacy devices from the past may be what BlackBerry needs to make their hardware business succeed.

BlackBerry can't even present day proof 99% of their devices. Have no fear, they will never future proof anything for as long as they are in the HW business.
Increase the price... yes, but considering how many people paid full price for the Passport when it launched, I don't think passing the added cost of the device to the consumer matters that much. This would only be for top of the line flagship devices like the Passport, not a low end device like the Leap. As for battery life, very few other phones have as big of batteries in them then the Passport. Fine tuning the OS to work better with the hardware specs can help to curb increased battery consumption, and of course just putting in a larger battery. Sure, there is no need for it now, but marketing those specs to people will make them want it just because it's the best. More is better in the majority of minds. At the same time BlackBerry can lay the ground work for their future with their hardware as true mobile computing devices since the device would be packing the power of a laptop. I wouldn't be surprised if people would even go for a BlackBerry with these hardware specs of a Laptop or a netbook.

Wow, color me impressed!!
I will definitely consider upgrading to this phone from my Classic IF it is lightening fast, and they fix BB10 bugs and complaints.
I was thinking the curved edge could feel the way the 9850/9860 did. That was not glass, but it was a sexy design. I always imagined BB10 type gestures on those rounded edges.
I wonder if the keyboard will be touch-enabled, like the one on the Passport. That would actually be a very good use case. When the keyboard is slid out, the tall screen is very far away. If the keyboard functioned as a trackpad, it would be awesome. The pictures show there is no toolbelt (so not dedicated trackpad), so I'm really hoping they make the keyboard so it supports gestures, scrolling, and as a precision cursor for text selection. That would be awesome.
I wanted a full-touch BB10 device, but I'm getting excited about this slider (thinking about the possibilities). I've never had a slider, but this looks sufficiently thin. I don't use a case so I'm not concerned with that (I use the leather holsters and those will work with this design). I love the BB10 virtual keyboard though. We'll see. I can't get my hopes up too much. I wanted the Passport but being on Verizon has prevented that possibility (work provides my phone, and they only use Verizon).
It's not about future proofing. Forget that term, because their is no such thing. Future proofing is a marketing tool. It amazes me how many people fall for this. BlackBerry needs to prepare for their future as a mobile computing solution. This has been their direction from the start. They need to make their mobile devices be replacements for your netbook or laptop, so give them that power and functionality. At the same time, with computer like specs, you can utilize that to market the devices not just to enterprise users, but to consumers as well, because in the consumers mind more is better. Let me provide an example, I have used a BlackBerry for a long time and it has always met my needs since I'm in business and law, but my father (a BlackBerry user as well) still needs a computer to do the majority of his work because he requires CAD since he is an engineer. My cousin has the same problems as an architect (iPhone user unfortunately). It's time to start moving toward mobile devices and software that can run things like this, and it all has to start with the hardware. It's not future proofing, it's preparing for the future. BlackBerry can work toward making that future come soon than you think and be a leader in it.

Curves are back. ;)
If you know what I mean....
After watching the latest video of the Slider in motion, it's clear Chen thinks he's funny, charming, and mysterious. He can't afford to be right now, people are jumping ship everyday and the rest of us are waiting for the company to deliver!
Instead he makes witty comments like "it has a lot of different usage that you have to wait a little bit and see" along with a stupid little grin. We all know what "wait" with BlackBerry means.
Thanks for nothing.

I want a track pad. Even if it has a reactive KB. Yes, I can swipe, gesture, and flick just fine. Sometimes my fingers are dirty and I don't like touching the screen.
I like what you are saying. 12's number in the millions.
