Are you insane? LOL, Android? That will never happen. It's most likely BB10.3.2 update. And no the OS does not need to be reworked for the sake of 64-Bit Processing. This has 8 CPU Cores, 4 32-Bit and 4 64-Bit. So yes this can function as a Quad-Core with 3GB of ram just like the Passport just fine. If eventually 64-Bit mobile computing takes off, a simple OS update would activate those cores. Quite simple actually.

The SD 810 has 8 64-bit cores in a big.LITTLE configuration (4 A57 cores and 4 A53 cores). It doesn't really matter, though. It will run a 32-bit OS just fine, and will even give some of the benefits of the ARMv8 instruction set.

Let's examine the devices close up. You can clearly see something blocking the actual screen of the Black Slider. As if they stuck something on the screen to muffle the look/image of the screen. Its smudged in other words. Not sure why they would do this, but John Chen did state there will be unique BB10 OS innovations introduced within the OS.

Only if they end up using these specs, which if it's greater than a few months (more likely), they could be using completely different hardware. Although to be honest, these specs could probably go for another year as a "high-end" phone without being criticized...

I'm actually hoping that they skip the Snapdragon 810. If they want to optimize the OS for 64-bit, they really don't have a lot of choices, but I would prefer they use the SD805 if they are going to use Qualcomm's chips for 2015 and ship another model next year with the upgraded OS and the SD820. The SD810 is bad news. I suppose with the Samsung partnership they could go Exynos 7420, which would e pretty sweet and still 64-bit.

Those specs are sweet. If BlackBerry can release this about October of this year they will do fine. It should catch a lot of people's attention and the phone will available for the Christmas shopping madness. Plus they need to market like crazy. I'm really intrigued by this phone now. This will definitely be a flagship device with the best of both worlds, full touch and slide out Keyboard. Fingers crossed.

Battery capacity doesn't make sense which is more than the Passport. Even with the slider mechanism it looks to be a thin device and phablets like the Note 4 and Nexus 6 have smaller 3220mAH batteries.

The only issue I have with this report is the 64 bit processor and the ram... The OS has to be reworked for 64 bit performance, which it most likely has not. Most likely this is why no announcement had been made on the actual date of the phone. This leaves one of two conditions: either the phone is running on two gigs and has three for once the software is updated or, it is running another OS altogether. Another OS could mean something like 10.4 very early build, or even android... thoughts?

Absolutely not. They have 2 working models at the Mobile Congress 2015. This new slider should get a release date in around April, May or June, at the earliest. And worst case for the latest, July through September. BlackBerry will want to have this device out as soon as possible, and especially a few months before Christmas.

For the U.S. carriers, the slider will come out MUCH later than it is initially released. It was the same case for the Q10, Z10, Z30, Passport, and the Classic. For Canadian and other carriers, the phone won't take so long to be released. So in other words, you're both right.

Could just be a general requirement meaning the candidates are knowledgeable and can transfer their previous Linux knowledge to their QNX systems?
