Regardless of whether the new OS is Android or BBOS (I really hope it's BBOS), here are some things I really hope are put/kept into the new OS:

    - Apps close when you close them - this is why I moved to BBOS in the first place. Too many apps were running in the background for "optimal" performance. So happy with apps not eating data while I'm not using them. So happy for superb battery life. Please keep this up BlackBerry!!

    - better integration with Google Docs and Maps - specifically, these are the only things I miss on Android. Contacts, Email, and Calendar are already spectacular on Hub. Bringing over my contacts and calendar from Android to BlackBerry was beyond easy.

    - secure credit card payments and PayPal payments from app stores - loved how BlackBerry App store has many secure payment options, whereas Google Play store made it difficult to switch payment methods

    - no more diagnostics/apps/system background junk draining battery and eating my monthly data allowance in the background!! - I can't stress this enough. Comparing my wife's Note 3 data usage and my Z30 data usage, it's ridiculous.

    - micro SD card slot - it's more a hardware thing, but I heard that the new Note 5 won't have a micro SD slot. Seeing as how I'm 90% done phasing out my laptop/tablet/gaming system/camera/mp3 player/GPS for a single phone that does all this, more storage is needed.

    - no more need for rooting/jailbraking/hacking OS for optimal performance. The OS "leaks" are not hacked OSes. They're not redesigned with immature styles and weird colors. BBOS remains professional looking and more reliable than any Android/iOS.

    - please keep BBOS!! - Please keep Hub. Please keep BlackBerry Protect. Please keep the File Manager that can integrate with One Drive, Dropbox, etc. The up and down swiping for switching between apps (incredibly efficient in the car). Please keep the calculator with tip calculator and unit conversion (why doesn't Android and iOS have this!?)

Did I miss anything else?? I'm sure I missed a lot more. Yes, security encryption good enough for the government is good too.

SD cards are a must. I love carrying all my music with me. I won't buy a phone without.

Apps don't always close on BB10 either. I always have to go in and close the contacts app, close file picker, close picture preview, close adobe Reader etc.

OP: BBOS refers to the previous generation OS, aka BB7, not BB10.
