The title says it all! Are the monthly security updates just for security?; because there are many software issues that need fixing! Security is important, I agree, but AFAICS (as far as I can see) they're not fixing software bugs. Am I wrong?

They've been updating the BB specific apps pretty regularly, but yes, those updates are just what they say they are, security updates.

Have you gone in and done a search for Blackberry and Google in the Play store? A lot of built in apps won't show as needing updates in My Apps the first time but will show as needing an update when searching for them.

It's not the apps that's the problem it's the general software bugs

Those updates are just security updates for sure, app specific updates are mostly done via Play Store and I guess we won't get any system specific updates prior the big Marshmallow release.
