I'm a long-term user of all BB flagship phones that have PKBs. I'm now coming off the Classic to the PRIV. I'm very disappointed in how difficult it is to read normal black-on-white text when in bright sunlight. (I live in South Florida and work outdoors a lot, and this is a common condition.)

The Classic was very easy to read in any kind of sunlight.

I set the brightness to max on the PRIV and it doesn't help much.

Any other ways to go about this that I'm not aware of?

    Thanks!

Not really a solution. I try to turn my body so that I'm shading the screen making it a bit more visible.

I don't even try to look at the screen in the sun. Like F2 says, adjust your body like a contortionist to block the sun. Works for me.

I have my screen brightness turned right down, but have the display set to auto adjust to the brightness of the ambient light, so when it's dark, the screen is dim, and when it's bright out, the screen is bright and visible. Works great for me.

It turns out it's already on.

So, how does this jive with my manual adjustment of the brightness?

(BTW, with Adaptive Brightness on and my manual dragging of the slider to max, it's still not that readable in bright sunlight, but clearly that's just something I'll have to learn to live with.)
