Now that Verizon released the Priv Marshmallow update I have been reading online what new goodies are in there.

Where is the much talked about memory setting control panel?

    Am I missing it?

    Very interesting.

I have it in Main Settings, just below Battery in my ShopBB Priv (with T-mobile sim - not sure if that affects it).

BUT it is not present on my Verizon Priv!

    Explain that????????????

Maybe they just gave part of Marshmallow and upped the version to get the FCC off their back? The Verizon Priv Marshmallow is rigged! #NeverVerizon

This is what my settings look like.

Verizon is known for deleting features from os builds. My note7 was missing the same features plus some others. It's typical Verizon. Nothing shocking here.

That's probably why it took them 6 months to release it.

But why remove that module? Are they trying to hide some memory consuming bloatware they installed or did they just need the memory this module took up for bloatware? Notice I did not attribute any innocent purpose to its removal by the infamous Big Red!

OK, they didn't remove that module, they just removed the link from the settings menu. I just opened it using Activity Launcher:

    1. Install Activity Launcher from the Play Store:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...tivitylauncher

    2. Open Activity Launcher and change Recent Activities to All Activities at the top.

    3. Find Settings in the list and open it, then find Memory.

    4. Either click it to launch the Memory panel or long press it and create a shortcut for it on your home screen.

That launcher app will be handy to put a link on my home screen for the new file manager in Marshmallow!

Okay, how did you find that? It certainly is buried.

    What else did you find?

Installed this app but it doesn't work.
I click on its icon and it brings me to the Home Settings page.
There are 2 options: Activity Launcher and BlackBerry Launcher.
If I click on the Activity Launcher, nothing happens.

You're right Fred, it is. Didn't look that way on my old G3 though for some reason.

Verizon sucks and blocks cool stuff. Wasn't this already well established? Aside from the MM fiasco, they've been blocking stuff from end users on their devices for years now simply because they're consumer hostile. They literally used to block GPS on their devices so they could force you to use their paid apps.
